Multiple U.S. Fincantieri Shipyards Receive National Safety Awards

Washington D.C. – Three Fincantieri shipyards here in the United States received national recognition from the Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) for their dedication to safety, operational excellence, and accident prevention.

Fincantieri ACE Marine (Green Bay, Wis.) and Fincantieri Marine Repair (Jacksonville, Fla.) received “Excellence in Safety” recognition. This award is bestowed upon shipyards that achieve a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below the Shipbuilders Council of America industry average.

Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) and Fincantieri Marine Repair were recognized for “Improvement in Safety” which is for shipyards that achieve a 10% or greater reduction in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) compared to the previous year.

Additionally, Fincantieri ACE Marine received the award for “Significant Safety Achievement.” FAM was one of just three American shipyards who maintained a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below 1.0. There were only three American shipyards able to achieve this distinction in 2025.

Fincantieri shipyards are commonly among the safest, but this was the first time that Fincantieri Marine Repair (FMR) received national recognition.

The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) is the national trade association representing the U.S. shipyard industry. Each year they recognize shipyards for their commitment to safe operations.
